I created a icon of ZhuQue also as "Vermilion Bird". Very similar to the Chinese Phoenix, but more like the Western version of Phoenix which is a firebird, for more information for this mythological creature check: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zhuque

I created a type illustration for the character "右" can be also read as "友" or "发"

Chinese Painting LOTUS

While I was visiting Beijing last month, i painted a quick painting in my father's studio and played with all his materials, i spent about 1 hour to paint this Chinese painting version of my illustration "Journey to the west". Different than the original illustration, this work is much more fine artish and also much larger in scale.

Nei Jing

The full title of Nei Jing is called Huang Di Nei Jing, which may be translated as the Yellow Emperor's Classics of Internal Medicine. Two separate books named Su Wen and Ling Shu respectively make up the Nei Jing

The book called Ling Shu means "the Axis of the Divine Soul", it was intended to be a fully comprehensive discussion on traditional Chinese medicine. Su Wen may be translated as "the Classics of Dialogues Concerning Internal Medicine".

In this chapter, the patterns of change in the four seasons are discussed, namely, warm spring, hot summer, cool autumn, and cold winter. New ZhenVision.com!

I just finished a whole new version of ZhenVision.com today, it took me about a week of passionate work to finish it.

The new site is much more mobile friendly than the last version, and i applied more theme and element in it while still keep it simple and clean. Links and social networks are better too in the new site located in the footer area.

I updated some new projects such as mySHAW and some branding/identity projects. In Zi - Chinese Characters's page I also added extra personal works that promos Chinese culture and classics which I will keep working on.

Next step: i will start a redesign for the ZhenVision Illustration site as well, to make it more mobile compatible.

Iphone Zodiac Games

I've design a series(12) of zodiac animal icons for a previous school project when i was in VCD major in ACAD. check them here Now I and my friend Jacky Chik are planning to build a series of iphone games which have them as the main characters for each game.

Everything is still in planning stage, but we decided to start from the Rat character and build a game similar to traditional "Smash-gopher" and inspired by the "Plants VS Zombie" type of game.

Here is a mockup for the login menu for the game. More are coming :)

Photos for Fashion Feature

The three photos for E magazine's fashion feature are almost done, Thanks KeWei for the great photography shoot and Mike Kerr for valuable suggestions on the illustration. And thanks everyone who participated and involved in this photoshoot!

Fashion shoot for "E" magazine

Last Sunday there was a fashion shoot for an editorial magazine design. Vivian, Peter, and I were art directing the whole shoot.

Matthew, Peter, and I modeled in the studio and we invited the photographer Kewei, documentary photographer Kevin, and makeup artist Zimo to join this project.

The photoshoot was very successful; everybody enjoyed it and the result turns out very nice.

I just upload a new Zhenvision.com website last week and attached the previous version as a separated illustartion portfolio.

The design for the new site is even cleaner and well structured. It contains my profile and branding, editorial, promotional, and interactive design projects.

The illustration portfolio have more sections now as well: illustration, concept art, sketches, and fine art.
